This is what we found on our first visit to Namangele --young women were scooping water from a hole in the ground that was a remnant from the rainy season.
The team met with the village water committee to ask them about their needs.
Resistivity data was gathered in several areas and revealed a likely spot to find water.
After issues with the drill were fixed, drilling commenced late in the afternoon while villagers watched and sang late into the evening. The drillers struck fresh water at 28 meters, or 92 feet.
The following week, the finishing crew arrived to install the pump and complete the apron. The villagers contributed bags of sand and bricks to make an attractive edging around it.
