Meet the 2026 Team

Dorothy Namalima

Kumbuka “Dorothy” Namalima holds a degree in water resource management and development from Mzuzu University and a Diploma in irrigation technology from Natural Resources College. 

In August 2025, she earned her MSc degree in water resource modeling and governance from the University of Malawi. 

She plans to pursue a PhD in an area related to water and sanitation. 

Prince Ted Chipao

Prince Ted Chipao holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology with a minor in geography. He calls himself “an enthusiastic Earth scientist with a bias toward geology. He is an associate lecturer in geophysics and petrology in the Department of Geography, Earth Sciences and Environment at the University of Malawi.

He also teaches  GIS, remote sensing and other courses. He plans to get a master’s degree in geophysics. 

Tamanda Saiti

Tamanda Saiti is about to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from University Of Malawi. Driven by a lifelong passion for the Earth sciences, she has been deeply interested in the field from a young age, inspired by her late father who also worked as a geoscientist and mining engineer. 

She plans to pursue a master’s degree in  mineral exploration geophysics or economic geology.

She is eager to work with SWRG, viewing it as a vital opportunity to gain a hands-on experience in geophysics, to interact directly with local communities and actively contribute to the delivery of clean and safe water. 

Her ultimate career  ambition  is bridge industry and  and academia through impactful geological research while establishing  a comprehensive geo- consultancy firm specializing in mineral exploration, and gemology.

Eureka Matope

Eureka Roland Matope has completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Malawi and is currently awaiting his graduation. 

His academic interests focus on geological engineering, GIS and Remote Sensing, particularly their applications in groundwater exploration and infrastructure development. 

Looking ahead, he plans to pursue postgraduate studies in geological engineering and GIS.
